About the Area

One of the reasons we chose Jackson Hole for our wedding weekend is the access to outdoor activities in the area. We hope that you take advantage of the surroundings — read on for some hiking and outdoor activity suggestions below!

If you tend to appreciate the mountain views from a distance, or if you’re looking for a place to refuel, the area has plenty of restaurants, bars, and shopping to offer as well. The easily walkable downtown area of Jackson lends itself well to meeting up and exploring with other guests!

Food & Drink

BREAKFAST & QUICK BITES

Persephone Bakery: Great breakfast sandwiches and pastries in the Jackson town center.
Healthy Being: Cold-pressed juicery and smoothies, with healthy bites.
Cowboy Coffee Co.: Home of the Original Cowboy Blend.
Jackson Drug: A town institution with old-fashioned soda fountain, awesome milkshakes and famous burgers.

LUNCH & DINNER

Glorietta: Delicious Italian spot near the Jackson town center.
Orsetto: More great Italian, across the street from the Cloudveil.
Coelette: A filling, alpine-inspired menu with great cocktails.
Pinky G’s Pizzera: The best pizza. Guy Fieri-approved.
The Handle Bar: A bit farther afield, this is the restaurant in the Four Seasons in Teton Village with patio seating.
The Grill at Amangani: Overlooks the Snake Valley, and offers farm-to-table cuisine. Open to non-hotel guests if you email within 14 days of your visit.

The Outdoors

Hikes

It’s recommend to bring bear spray on all hikes just to be safe. You can purchase it (and return unopened cans) at the Jackson airport, or any gear shop in town and in the parks.

Jenny Lake (8 miles / easy-moderate): This hike is famous for providing fantastic views of the Tetons without requiring a steep climb (the hike is a fairly flat loop). There’s also a ferry that will take you across the lake if you prefer to do a half loop (or just take the ferry straight back). We recommend getting there early in the morning to beat the crowds.

Taggart Lake (4 miles / easy): Can be steeper at parts but is a good option for a shorter hike. Consider starting early in the morning and eating lunch by the lake!

String Lake (4 miles / moderate): Enjoy this 4 mile loop around the lake (moderately steep in some areas), bring a rented paddle board, or jump from the rock in the middle of the lake.

Delta Lake (7.5 miles / hard): This is a steeper, out-and-back trail, but with views that pay off for the extra work.

Dining options in the park include Jackson Lake Lodge, Jenny Lake Lodge, and Colter Bay Village.

Other Activities

THE RODEO
We highly recommend getting tickets to the rodeo that takes place Wednesday night if you happen to be in town by then. The buckaroos are a true sight to see!

FLYFISHING
Westbank Anglers comes recommended if you’ve always wanted to learn to fly-fish, or want to experience it on the Snake River.

RAFTING & WATER SPORTS
Jackson Hole Whitewater is a small family run business that offers rafting adventures.
Rendezvous River Sports is a great place to rent a paddle board or inner tube.

SNAKE RIVER OVERLOOK
This is a favored photo spot (famously shot by Ansel Adams) on the river that our venue is named after! This is about a 25 minute drive from Jackson (not technically within Grand Teton National Park, so no fee required).

OXBOW BEND OVERLOOK
You can take in one of the most historic and beautiful views at Oxbow Bend, overlooking Mt. Moran. This is within Grand Teton National Park, and there is a parking pullout right at the site. This is about a 40 minute drive from Jackson, on the way to Yellowstone.
